An Act respecting the Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan, 1920. [Assented to November 10, 1920.] WHEREAS under and by virtue of a commission under the Great Seal of the province dated the thirtieth day of April, 1918, issued pursuant to "An Act to provide for the Consolidation and Revision of the Statutes of Saskatchewan," being chapter 71 of the statutes of 1917 (second session), the Honourable Henry William Newlands, a judge of the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, the Honourable William Ferdinand Alphonse Turgeon, Attorney General for Saskatchewan, Thomas Arthur Colclough, Esquire, Deputy Attorney General for Saskatchewan, and Robert Walker Shannon, Esquire, Legislative Counsel for Saskatchewan, have revised and consolidated the statutes of Saskatchewan under the powers conferred upon them by the said Act and in accordance with the terms thereof; and Whereas the said commissioners have included in the said revision and consolidation the Acts of the last session of the Legislature, and the work so completed has been laid before the Legislature at its now present session; and Whereas it is expedient to give the force of law to the said revision and consolidation: Therefore, His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: Short title 1. This Act may be cited as The Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan, 1920, Act. Interpretation", 2. This Act shall be subject to the same rules of construction as The Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan 1920. R.S.S. 1920 confirmed Acts in Schedule III repealed Repeal not to revive or be retroactive Repeal not to affect certain matters anterior Penalties etc. Aotions, etc. Acts, deeds. rights, etc Offices, etc 3. The printed roll, attested under the signature of the Lieutenant Governor and countersigned by the Provincial Secretary and deposited in the office of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly shall be deemed to be the original roll of and to be The Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan 1920, and as such shall come into force and become operative on, from and after the date of the coming into force of this Act. 4. The several Acts and parts of Acts enumerated in Schedule III of the said Revised Statutes of Saskatchewan are hereby repealed to the extent mentioned in the said Schedule III save only as hereinafter is provided. 5. The repeal of the said Acts and parts of Acts shall not revive any Act or provision of law repealed by them nor shall the said repeal prevent the effect of any saving clause in the said Acts or parts of Acts or the application of any of the said Acts or parts of Acts or of any Act or provision of law formerly in force to any transaction, matter or thing anterior to the said repeal to which they would otherwise apply. 6. (1) The repeal of the said Acts and parts of Acts shall not affect: (a) any penalty, forfeiture or liability incurred. before the time for such repeal or any proceedings for enforcing the same had, done, completed or pending at the time of such repeal; (b) any action, suit, judgment, decree, certificate, execution, process, order, rule or any proceeding, matter or thing whatever respecting the same. had, done, made, entered, granted, completed, pending, existing or in force at the time of such repeal; (c) any act, deed, right, title, interest, grant, assurance, descent, will, registry, bylaw, rule, regulation, contract, lien, charge, matter or thing had, done, made, acquired, established or existing at the time of such repeal; (d) any office, appointment, commission, salary, allowance, security, duty or any matter or thing. appertaining thereto at the time of such repeal; or |
