Il tragico cristiano: da Dante ai moderni

Front Cover
Casa Editrice Leo S Olsch, 2003 - 251 pages
The volume moves from a series of Dante studies, dedicated in turn to specific problems of the Commedia and to interpretations of the poem in general, towards the relationship between the Commedia and vulgar Petrarca with particular reference to the Triumphi of which it attempts an unusual reading. A large part of the work covers the theoretical question of Christian tragedy with the subsequent readings of suitably identified texts and authors (such as Dante, Manzoni and some contemporaries).
